Wellness and nutrition are two different things. We know what nutrition is; it’s our way of nurturing our body in order to keep the body functioning the healthy way. And we make that happen by taking all the necessary food, vitamins and minerals so that our body may continue to function at the optimum level. And what about wellness, how can we make ourselves well?

Wellness is a feeling of good physical and mental health, where we are open to self enrichment and are willing to learn the general and specific ways on how to make self improvement happen. In general, you can be well if you happen to adopt proper diet, exercise and good eating habits. If we go to the specifics then we will see that to be well means re-examining what we eat. What we eat is what we are, so if we want to be healthy and we need to eat healthy. To eat healthy means taking just the right amount of calorie that we need and taking the recommended dose of vitamins and minerals. This also means taking the effort to consume foods of nutritional value. This is a form of self-enrichment for the body.

Next thing to make ourselves well is to focus on our exercise program. Self-enrichment means taking exercises as this will lead to wellness. Exercise can come in many forms; this can be done thru the use of free weights or simply by establishing a personal routine which you can do every day. Exercises can jeep the body healthy and sharp. These activities can also improve the health of our heart and can burn our extra calories.

To be well means forgetting about the everyday stresses that makes us ill. There are a lot of ways on how we can conquer our day-to-day stress. Examples of activities that you can do to tackle stress is to get some rest, have some therapy, get a massage or simply take a hot bath after a rough day. Taking some time to relax can affect our wellness and can help us in our self-enrichment.

Also it should be remembered that our personal habits can either help us in our self-enrichment and in progress or this can keep us away from the wellness that we want. Smoking, drinking and lack of sleep can stop us from achieving the wellness that we want. It’s the target of anyone to be well. Wellness is the condition where the body processes, the physical and mental capacities of the person functions at the right level. With this in mind, everyone needs to be well. But being well can be a difficult process and this is not simply getting to the gym or taking a walk down the park.

It all starts by evaluating ourselves, which a great start for self-enrichment. This can be done by jotting down the goals and we need to make that happen so that we get to reap its benefits. And that can be made possible thru proper exercise and diet.

Exercise and dieting is only the start. It is also important to focus on the immune system. A good immune system is an indicator of the state of wellness. A reliable immune system means a person can evade a number of health issues like Alzheimer’s, stroke and heart attack. But more than this, a healthy immune system can get us to live longer past the retirement age. What allows us to live past the retirement age is wellness and wellness allows us to enjoy what our source of satisfaction- work.

With self-enrichment and wellness, work is no longer an unwanted activity, rather wellness will allow us to get up every day and face work with a smile. Simply put wellness and our good health are directly correlated on how we participate in activities like this.

With wellness an important aim, it is important to constantly check the wellness goals plus the state of being and our mental capacity for continued learning, teaching and experiencing. Knowing that you have spent your day on self-enrichment activities like 20 minutes of exercise daily is an accomplishment in itself. Walking as an exercise worked for me, and I lost 74lbs and this improved my energy levels three-fold. In the end self-enrichment all boils down to continued wellness and our evaluation of our wellness. This is an investment that never goes wrong.
